Andhra Association, Delhi (Regd.) an apolitical and secular organization, was established in 1935 by the then freedom fighters like Desodharaka Kasinathuri Nageswara Rao Pantulu, Prof N.G. Ranga, Dr Anantasayanam Iyengar, Dr V.V. Giri and many other eminent patriots to serve the Telugu residents of Delhi and registered in 1945 under Societies act. Right from its inception, it has been involved in numerous welfare activities to benefit the Telugu population of NCT Delhi in the areas of education, health and culture. Andhra Association has its own 7 storeyed building on a 2700 square yards plot in the centrally located out Lodhi Road area of South Delhi. We are also running two charitable clinics with all diagnostic facilities including Digital X-ray, Ultrasound & ECG with latest configurated equipment under expert Specialist Doctors at out Lodhi Road Building and at Jhilmil.

In the last 84 years, Andhra Association had the privilege of felicitation former Presidents of India, Vice Presidents of India and many Union and Chief Ministers besides famous celebrities from all walks of life. The then President of India Late Hon’ble Dr Babu Rajendra Prasad was the Chief Guest of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of our Association held in the year 1960. The Golden Jubilee celebrations were conducted on 14-7-1987 and the then President of India late Hon’ble Dr Giani - Zail Singh was the Chief Guest and late Dr N.T. Rama rao, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was the Guest of Honour. Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India was the Chief Guest for the recent Platinum Jubilee inaugural celebrations held on 27-1-2019.

Activites of Andhra Association, Delhi in brief:

  • Distribution of scholarships worth Rs.30 lakhs to poor & meritorious Telugu students (1500 approx) every year.
  • Conducting indoor & outdoor games for the Telugu youth every year.
  • Running Andhra Association Health Care & Diagnostic Centre with qualified Doctors and latest equipment in the Laboratory, Digital X-ray and Ultrasound facilities in our building premises at Lodhi Road at very nominal rates.
  • Conducting Mega Health camps at various places of Delhi for the benefit of Telugu people.
  • Running a Branch clinic at Jhilmil colony for the benefit of economically weaker sections of Telugu members
  • Financial assistance for the marriages of daughters belonging to poor telugu families.
  • Financial assistance for the funeral expenses to poor Telugu families in case of death of their family members.
  • Celebrating festivals of all religions namely Ramnavami, Mahashivaratri, Ganesh Puja, dasara, Diwali, Christmas, Easter and Ramjan, thus practising true secularism.
  • Medical assistance and better treatment to the needy telugu people who are suffering with long term illness.
